Want to see Flashdance?! How about winning some amazing seats!!!

Flashdance CONTEST!!

When I first heard that Flashdance was coming to the Ottawa National Arts Centre I was VERY excited!!  However I did pause and wonder how are they were going to bring a very loved movie to the theater? Can't wait to see!!!

Now for the fun part I have been given the opportunity to host a contest for a pair (or two) of orchestra (right there in the front!!) seats for the October 22nd opening night at the Ottawa National Arts Centre.

I wonder if you might want to bring a raincoat for this part :)

Excited yet??!!! You must be thinking what do I have to do for a chance to win these tickets?! While it is quite simple let me know by entering a comment your best Flashdance memory.  Did you copy the fashion or hair look from the movie? Did you see the movie with a date? Is that date still in your life? I want to know :)

Have I mentioned I can't wait to see this!! Myself and some girlies will be having an 80s night on October 22nd.  Can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!

Flashdance the Movie vs. Flashdance the Musical

Believe it or not but I only watched Flashdance the movie in the past couple years . . . I know it is a classic! I honestly love it and when I heard that Flashdance was being made as a musical I was excited. I can't wait to how they interpret the film :)

I just landed on this AMAZING article from the Miami Herald. Now I am (even more) looking forward to seeing this musical!

Which show will they make into a musical next? I would love it if they did something really unexpected . . . an action movie maybe . . . any ideas, suggestions?

Don't forget there is still time to become a Broadway Across Canada subscriber! Which means that you get to renew your tickets (seats reserved) for the 2014-2015 subscription!

Have you seen JERSEY BOYS ???

I can honestly say that Jersey Boys was not on my list of plays to see.  I was pleasantly surprise sitting in the National Art Centre watching this world renowned play.

I now understand why this play has won numerous accolades and awards.

The Ottawa Citizen review describes this play best.

The history of this foursome is told in four acts (book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice; music by Bob Gaudio; lyrics by Bob Crewe). One man tells his own story per act as the overall plot unfurls. It’s a structure that works well because it builds and fulfills expectation and keeps the story moving at a healthy clip.

I am incredibly tempted to get another pair of tickets for this show! There is still time! Jersey Boys is at the Ottawa National Arts Centre till July 7th.

Trust me you don't want to miss it! Get your tickets here.

Ottawa Broadway Accross Canada 2013-2014 Season

Have you heard!!! The 2013-2014 Ottawa Broadway Across Canada Season has been announced!!!

What is in the line up?!

June 26 - July 7

October 22-27

January 21-26

I must admit I am most excited about seeing Flashdance.  Believe it or not I only saw Flashdance the movie in the last two years. It was on my list of old movies to see.  It is incredible  how they turn beloved old movies into broadway theatre! So far I have seen Dirty Dancing which is also a cult favorite and that play is up there in my favorites.

Which play are you looking forward in seeing? Are you going to subscribe to the 2013-2014 line up?

The only word that comes to mind to describe the play Billy Elliot is . . . AMAZING!! It is non stop singing and dancin but never too much just the right amount.

The young actor Ben Cook who played Billy Elliot last night was incredible. I saw the movie several years ago and the play brought it all back.

From what we could tell the actors were not from Great Britan but they had the accents perfected!!!! The audience understood every word which is sometimes an issue when seeing a play.

Oh and I can't forget the little old lady that was sitting in the seat in front of us . . . she was adorable. clapping and bobbing up and down while Billy Elliot sang and danced :) I hope that when I am in my old age I can still enjoy going to the theatre :)

Have you seen it?! What did you think?
