Want to see Flashdance?! How about winning some amazing seats!!!

Flashdance CONTEST!!

When I first heard that Flashdance was coming to the Ottawa National Arts Centre I was VERY excited!!  However I did pause and wonder how are they were going to bring a very loved movie to the theater? Can't wait to see!!!

Now for the fun part I have been given the opportunity to host a contest for a pair (or two) of orchestra (right there in the front!!) seats for the October 22nd opening night at the Ottawa National Arts Centre.

I wonder if you might want to bring a raincoat for this part :)

Excited yet??!!! You must be thinking what do I have to do for a chance to win these tickets?! While it is quite simple let me know by entering a comment your best Flashdance memory.  Did you copy the fashion or hair look from the movie? Did you see the movie with a date? Is that date still in your life? I want to know :)

Have I mentioned I can't wait to see this!! Myself and some girlies will be having an 80s night on October 22nd.  Can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. Flashdance is how I spent my youth! The movie impacted my fashion sense until today. I wear leg warmers and headbands and cut my sweatshirts so they hang off my shoulders! Seriously shaped me as a kid and as a young woman. I even did a spoof of flashdance when I worked for a TV comedy show. I re-enacted some of my favourite parts! Lots of silly stuff but to this day, my appreciation of dance, movemenet and music was shaped by this film, and others like Beat Street and Breakin'. 80s dance films were the best! :-)

  2. I grew up in the 80s and remember this fashion style very well. My sister went through a "Flashdance" stage. So I think of her when I think of Flashdance. I think I'd even offer to take her instead of my wife to see this.

  3. I was pretty young when I first saw Flashdance - What I remember most is the guy blowing his nose to the music in the final dance!! :) The music is what stayed with me the most, and I must have played every song on the tape a million times!

  4. My best Flashdance memory is standing at an outside sweatshirt stand specializing in that signature torn neckline in the Midway at the CNE in Toronto trying to decide which colour to choose to wear to my first day of high school. I loved that movie. I must have watched it a dozen times growing up.

  5. Every time I hear the first few synthesizer notes I remember my cousin and I doing choreographies to it in my living room. With the vinyl skipping every time we would get carried away by the song and start stumping around! Great memories!!!

  6. I got to say, the best memories are the songs, and the water splash. Of course, very classic memory from that movie, but when you like it, you like it! The hair is also a memory, but happy to say, I never got into that fashion. Just a little too young :P

  7. This was my mom's favorite 80's movie - so as a kid I was forced to watch it with her over and over again and grew to love it as much as she did. Winning a pair of tickets would be a great gift for my mother's upcoming 25th wedding anniversary {Oct.29} and an awesome gift for my birthday as well (which is also coming up {Oct.20}). I would just looooove to take her. Please pick me :)

  8. I love Flashdance the movie! Can't wait to see it as a broadway play! My mother and I have try to have a movie night every few months and Flashdance is always a part of our list. We have to talk ourselves out of watching it everytime . . . that and Pretty Woman (that would be another good play!)

  9. Oh I hope I am not to late to enter! I love this show! It is a classic! Because of this movie I have taken several dance classes and it is now my hobby and passion (as I was never good enough to make it in the industry).
